About Ron and Charlayne Gault ...
Ronald Gault, global banker with a focus on South Africa, and Charlayne Hunter-Gault,renowned journalist and writer, are passionate about South African wine.
They have lived in South African for more than fourteen years, arriving as the New South Africa took it's first steps. They quickly added to the many friends they had before coming to South Africa and began to savor the many wonderful things about the country. Their lifestyle and broad range of friends led them, without much deviation, to a big embrace of South African wines.
Our brand, Passages, was established in 2005 and that year we launched our first vintage of Passages Chardonnay, which has since been followed by a Cabernet/Merlot blend and a Merlot. To add depth and scope to the porfolio, we have bought in wines from two small to moderate sized vineyards Doolhof and Blouvlei (Blouvlei is an opperating entity on the Mount Du Toit vineyard).
