RTG Trading Company, parent company of Passages wine brand, is a venture started by the husband and wife team, Ronald T. Gault and Charlayne Hunter-Gault.
The RTG wine portfolio includes several varietals: Doolhof Merlot, Doolhof Cabernet Sauvignon, Epicurean Red Blend (Cab/Merlot/Cab Franc), Passages Chardonnay, Passages Merlot, Passages Blend (Cab/Merlot) and Beyerskloof Pinotage. Beyerskloof, South African winemakers feel a particular affinity to Pinotage, a uniquely South African varietal. It is a new entrant in the portfolio, from the distinguished winemaker Beyers Trutter.

"My wife, Charlayne, and I have lived in South Africa for more than fourteen years, arriving as the New South Africa took its first steps.
We quickly added to the many friends we had before coming to South Africa and began to savor the many wonderful things about the country. Our lifestyle and broad range of friends lead us, without much deviation, to a big embrace of South African wines".
In March 2006, we collaborated with close friends Wayne Luckett and Richard Weathers and established a partnership to distribute our offerings of South African wines in the U.S. market.
Doolhof wines are from the Wellington region which is well known for its fruit and winemakers.
Epicurean, a bordeaux blend, is the premier wine in the portfolio. This wine is the result of a collaborative effort of Mr. Shilowa, Mr. Ngoshenge, Mr. Mogase and Mr. Gault. This partnership has produced four vintages of Epicurean and has received 94 points from noted wine, in South African Wine Guide, published by John Platter.
Our wines are currently being sold in Charleston, South Carolina; New York City, NY; Massachusetts; Martha's Vineyard, (as of May 2010; Pennsylvania (150 State Liquor Board stores); Houston, Texas; Chicago and Los Angeles.
